well, the practice sock is no more. I miscounted when turning the heel then couldn't see where/how to pick up the stitches.

Heh, that happened to me. I think everyone goes through that. Luckily, I was just making a demo sock, not a real full-size one. I *knew* I'd screw up, so I didn't want to make it too large to begin with. Just gotta learn the basic steps. Try it again, but think smaller. You can do it.
