Why it's 'Short Row Heels'! AGAIN.  There's something that I'm just not getting.  I'm getting closer, but success eludes me.  Below is a baby sock I attempted, complete with holes on both sides of the heel.  Next to it is just short row heel practice with one big on only one side.

A GIANT hat. (aka Adult Large)

 

I am very pleased that this is completed (minus a few ends that still needed to be weaved in.  The yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease. I used size 6 needles. gauge= 6 st/in. After trying the toe-up sock, I wondered about making a hat from the top down. It's amazing what happens when people find out you knit.  They give you yarn!   It's happened twice this year. A lady at work had a skein in her desk and when she was cleaning out a drawer, she offered it to me.

I'll try to post pictures of my scarf before the end of the week. I really like how it's looking. You can finally see color pattern in the stitches. I'd have posted a pic sooner, but the week has been a pain.

I couldn't resist.  I bought some.  I don't even have the right size needles for this yarn (yet).  Maybe when I receive it, I'll post a picture of all the unknitted yarn I have purchased from him so far.

I had to rip out about 1.5 inches so there's still not much to show on the scarf.  When it get to be a decent length, I'll post a photo.  But it is slow going.  It's kinda sad when you get better at ripping back the work as opposed to actually creating the work. *sigh*

I adapted this pattern.  I think it's for worsted weight yarn, but it doesn't really say.  

I adapted it a little for Dave's Sport Weight yarn.  If anyone is curious, I cast on 39 stitches with size 8 needles.  For me, it's about 7 inches wide (not accounting for the rib).
